SEO
Get found, on Google and in AI answers.
Today, your customers look for you in three ways: in Google's results, on Google Maps, and more and more by asking an AI. Here is what matters for each, what we do, and what we will never promise.
SEO
Google's results
The links shown when someone searches. Search engine optimisation means earning a good spot without paying Google: a fast, clear website that answers what people are looking for.
Local
Google Maps and your listing
For a local business, this is often where it all happens: the three places shown on the map, with their rating, opening hours and a call button. Your Google listing matters as much as your website.
GEO
AI assistants
ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and the answers Google writes at the top of its results mention businesses and websites. GEO (generative engine optimisation) aims to be part of them, with accurate information.
What Google looks at.
Hundreds of signals, but three families do most of the work.
01
A website that reads well
Fast on phones, secure, every page with its own title and description, a sitemap, no broken pages. That's the foundation: without it, nothing else works.
02
Pages that answer
Google ranks answers, not websites. One page per service, with your prices, your area, your hours and the words your customers really use, beats a long, vague text.
03
Local trust
A complete Google listing, regular reviews you reply to, the same name, address and phone number everywhere, and links from local websites: that's what lifts you on the map.
GEO
What about AI?
An AI doesn't "rank" your website: it looks for reliable, consistent sources, then summarises. What helps it talk about you, and get it right:
Clear facts
Who you are, what you do, where, at what price, when you're open: spelled out on your website.
Structured data
A summary of your business in the format Google and AI tools read (schema.org): name, address, hours, services, reviews.
An open door
AI assistants' crawlers allowed to read your website, and an llms.txt file when it helps: an introduction written for them.
A reputation elsewhere
AI tools cross-check: Google reviews, directories, articles and websites that mention you. The more these sources agree, the more you get cited.
GEO is new and its rules keep moving. The good news: almost everything that makes for good Google SEO helps with AI too.
At KodeNet
What we actually do.
The technical foundation comes with every website we build. Tracking and ongoing work depend on the plan.
On every website
- A custom-coded website, fast on phones, on HTTPS
- A title and a description for every page, one official address per page
- Structured data about your business (schema.org)
- An up-to-date sitemap and robots.txt
- AI assistants' crawlers allowed to read the website, unless you'd rather not
- Your website read every day by our robot: error pages, titles, descriptions, broken links
With Serenity
- Your visitor statistics, cookie-free, and the towns your visitors come from
- Enquiries counted: calls, emails, directions, forms, and where those visitors came from
- Your Google review link, its QR code and a poster for your counter
- A report every month, by email
With Partner, on top
- Tracking of your Google ranking, the searches that bring you visitors and the enquiries that came from Google
- What Google knows about your website, page by page
- Every month, the leads we draw from it, and the work done on them
- Your Google listing kept up to date by us: hours, photos, information
Add-on
Automatic reviews
Your website asks for a review by itself, the day after a booking or an order: an email in your name, a single reminder, a link to opt out. The same message for every customer, with nothing offered in return, as Google requires.
Our rules
What we will never do.
Promise you the top spot
Nobody can: Google says so itself. We commit to the work done, and show you every month what it brings.
Buy links or reviews
Google forbids it, and a listing or website can be penalised for a long time. Reviews come from your real customers, and nobody else.
Sell ads under another name
Google's paid ads are something else: they stop the day you stop paying. We work on organic search.
Lock you in
Our plans have no commitment, and your figures are in your client area, not in a report someone reads to you.
Timing
How long does it take?
01
From launch
The technical foundations are in place, and Google can read every page.
02
A few days to a few weeks
Google discovers and files the new pages; searches for your name come quickly.
03
Three to six months
Competitive searches ("your trade + your town") move, at the pace of your content and reviews.
04
After that
Steady work: new pages, new reviews, an up-to-date listing. SEO is never really finished.
Frequently asked questions
What people often ask us.
No, and nobody honestly can: Google says so in its own guidance. What we promise is a technically flawless website, steady work on what matters (pages, Google listing, reviews), and figures to see what it brings.
No. Organic results and the map can't be bought. Ads marked "Sponsored" are advertising, a separate thing: useful for a launch, but they stop with the budget.
Generative Engine Optimisation: making sure AI assistants (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google's AI answers) know your business and describe it accurately. It relies on clear information on your website, structured data, and a consistent reputation elsewhere on the web.
Searches for your name, within days or weeks. Competitive searches, more like three to six months, depending on the competition in your town and how many reviews you have.
Usually for three reasons: more reviews, a more complete Google listing, or pages that better answer the search. With Partner, we look at this every month and tell you what we're doing about it.
Depending on your plan: your visits, the towns your visitors come from, your enquiries and where they came from, your review link with its QR code; with Partner, your Google ranking, the searches that bring you visitors and what we've done.
Shall we look at your case?
